Acinetobacter baumannii is a species of pathogenic bacteria called aerobic gram-negative bacillus and is naturally sensitive to relatively few antibiotics. A. baumannii forms opportunistic infections. There have been many reports of A. baumannii infections among American soldiers wounded in Iraq.
